2010: One of Valpo’s best runners and jumpers as a junior … ranked among Crusaders’ best sprinters during the indoor season in the 200m (23.60) … recorded second-best indoor triple jump in team history (46’4¼”) at the Chicagoland Championships … led Valpo in the long jump with a distance of 22’4” in the indoor season for the fourth-longest jump all-time … paced Valpo in the outdoor season in the triple jump (47’3”) and long jump (23’10¼”), reaching second all-time in Crusader history in both categories … won the triple jump three times and the long jump once in the outdoor campaign … Horizon League runner-up in triple jump during the indoor season and the long jump in the outdoor season … also anchored season’s best 4x100m relay team at Polar Bear Invitational (45.60) … two-time Horizon League Male Field Athlete of the Week … named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll both semesters … honored as 2009-10 Valpo Male Athlete of the Year by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

2009: Saw action in the jumps and the sprints for the Crusaders … paced Valpo in both the long jump (20’4 ¼”) and triple jump (43’4 ¼”) during indoor season … also ranked among Crusaders’ top sprinters indoors, posting Valpo’s best times in the 200m (23.31) and 400m (53.71) dashes and ranking second in the 60m dash (7.35) … posted top time of 11.84 in the 100m dash during outdoor campaign … registered team-best long jump of 19’8 ¼” outdoors, while ranking second on the team in the triple jump (40’7 ½”) … named to the Horizon League Academic Honor Roll both semesters.

2008: Moved into fourth in Crusader history in the triple jump both indoors (44’0 3/4”, Chicagoland) and outdoors (44’8”, Hillsdale Gina Relays) ... posted a runner-up finish in the triple jump indoors at the Findlay Classic ... finished second in the triple jump outdoors at both the Ted Haydon Invitational and the Puma Invitational ... paced Valpo both indoors (21’2”, at Milwaukee) and outdoors (21’6”, Hillsdale Gina Relays) in the long jump as well as a freshman ... also competed in the sprints for the Crusaders.

Prep: A two-year letterwinner for the Warriors ... qualified for the indoor state meet ... an All-Conference and All-Sectional performer ... also received Academic All-Conference accolades.

Personal: Jarrett is the son of Warren and Joyce Mickens … major is biology … has earned Presidential academic honors during his time at Valpo … born April 14, 1989.
