2020: Competed in seven indoor meets for Valpo in his junior season… Began the year with a 6-2¾ (1.90m) mark in the high jump… Recorded a sixth-place finish in the high jump on Jan. 17 at the GVSU Bill Clinger Classic and a fourth-place finish in the event on Jan. 24 at Indiana State’s John Gartland Invitational… Competed in his first heptathlon on Feb. 7-8 at University of Chicago’s Windy City Rumble, placing sixth with 3,711… During the heptathlon, moved to third place all-time for Valpo in the high jump when he cleared 6-6¾ (2.00m). During the event, he also set his career-best mark in the long jump at 21-0 (6.40m)… Also on Feb. 7, finished first in the open high jump with a mark of 6-4 (1.93m)… Added a third-place finish in the high jump on Feb. 22 at Notre Dame’s Alex Wilson Invitational… Finished his year with a ninth-place finish in the high jump at MVC Indoor Championships with a mark of 6-3¼ (1.91m) on Feb. 29.

2019: Set his personal best in the high jump when he cleared 6-5 (1.96m) on Feb. 2 at the Fred Wilt Open at Purdue, where he finished in second place… Recorded Top 5 high jump finishes Nov. 30 at the Blue & Gold Invitational in Notre Dame and Feb. 2 at the Fred Wilt Open at Purdue… Tied his career best at the MVC Indoor Championships, finishing 11th... Improved his mark in the high jump each meet during the outdoor season, culminating with a career-best mark of 6-5½ and a 12th-place finish.

2018: Came out strong in his first competition for Valpo, receiving fifth in the high jump at 6-0.75 on Dec. 1 at the Blue & Gold Invitational… His indoor season-best jump came on Feb. 17 at Grand Valley State… Received runner-up at this meet finishing at a height of 6-2¾… Also had a strong performance at the Redbird Invitational on April 14, reaching a 6-5½ in the high jump. This jump was good for fifth place, and was also an outdoor season-best.

Prep: Placed eighth at the Illinois Class 2A 2016 outdoor state finals in the high jump before placing third in 2017… Finished third in the Top Times (Illinois indoor state finals) Class 2A meet in 2017… Shattered the KRC high jump record with a leap of 6-7… Won four letters in track and field while also garnering four varsity letters in soccer… Graduated with a 4.3 grade point average… Was a member of National Honor Society and the co-founder of his school’s German Club.

Personal: Son of Anne and Peter Maidment... Majoring civil engineering with a concentration on environment.
