After two weeks off, Valparaiso took to the road on Saturday but dropped a 7-0 decision to Marquette in Milwaukee, Wis.
The Golden Eagles won all three doubles matches to take the opening point of the contest.
In singles play,
Joe Venegas (Saint Charles, Ill./North H.S.) forced a tie-break for the third set, rallying after dropping the opener, but fell 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 at third singles.
Marquette won the other five singles contests in straight sets.
Nic Kooyers (Holland, Mich./Holland H.S.) and
Alex Lau (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson Senior H.S.) each played tight first sets before each fell 7-5, 6-2 at first and fourth singles respectively.
Valparaiso will return to the courts on Sunday, battling Bradley in Peoria, Ill. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
