Two Crusaders Drop Matches at ITA Regionals

Mike Wagner dropped his first round match at the ITA Regionals.

Valparaiso sent a pair of players to the ITA Regional Championships qualifying on Thursday afternoon in Minneapolis, Minn.

Alex Lau (Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson Senior H.S.) dropped a tough 7-5, 6-2 decision against Adam Altepeter of Minnesota in the opening round. Mike Wagner (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer H.S.) fell 6-2, 6-1 to Knot Likitkumchorn of Toledo in his qualifying match.

Wagner will play doubles in the main draw with Mike Shideler (Valparaiso, Ind./Munster H.S.) on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. against Minnesota’s team of Pierre Dumas and Sebastian Gallego.

Lau will team with Tom Litscher (Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial H.S.) to face Kenneth Nordheim and David Simon of Louisville at 7 p.m. on Friday evening.
