The Horizon League and WebStream Productions are pleased to announce the launch of the completely redesigned Horizon League Network website. The site, which can be found at www.HorizonLeagueNetwork.tv, serves as a portal to hundreds of live and on-demand videos while giving its users the ability to interact on an array of social media platforms.
“We are very excited to announce the release of the new site,” said Nate Flannery, WebStream Productions Vice President. “This site will change the way Horizon League fans watch and interact with HLN’s video content. With a simple click, visitors will be chatting with their friends on Facebook or posting to their Twitter account. Obviously the video content will still be the focal point of the site, but visitors will never have to leave the site to access their favorite social media platforms. At this point, we feel that is vital to the success of any collegiate sports property.”
In addition to the incorporation of Facebook and Twitter, the new HLN also features hundreds of photos, an integrated blog and a news aggregator. The Horizon League will allow fans to view, download and share photos from each of its 19 championships via the photo management application Flickr. The HLN Blog increases its role on the new site with student-athletes blogging alongside the HLN staff. Finally, staying current with League news is now easy with a news aggregator pulling in stories from various outlets that cover Horizon League teams.
“We are excited to launch the next-generation HLN web site with our partners at WebStream Productions,” said Horizon League Commissioner Jonathan B. LeCrone. “Since its inception four years ago, our video streaming initiative has played a key role in branding our League and promoting our schools, teams and student-athletes. This new site is the next step and will bring our fans and alumni even closer to the action.”
The new site is also highly customizable, containing 10 uniquely branded channels for each Horizon League institution. These channels will sort the entire site’s content so visitors who select a favorite team will only see that team’s information. Nearly every section of the site gives users the ability to sort the content by school and/or sport for quick and easy location of content.
Indianapolis-based TGFI developed the new HLN with direction from the WebStream Productions staff. TGFI crafts web site designs and experiences, implements search engine optimization and Internet marketing strategies, and provides web development and consulting with a personal touch.
WebStream Productions has also teamed up with Livestream, one of the most powerful live broadcast platforms online. All video streamed to the new site will be delivered by Livestream’s vast infrastructure. Livestream allows producers to create live, scheduled and on-demand internet television to broadcast anywhere on the web through a single player widget.
Founded in 2006, WebStream Productions is a leader in live sports webcasting with clients including the NCAA, Horizon League, Indianapolis Indians and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).
