Valparaiso University pitcher Amanda Gilbertson (Murrietta, Calif./West Albany, Ore. H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Pitcher of the Week.

The junior righthander recorded her third victory of the season against IPFW to help snap the Crusaders six-game losing skid. Gilbertson struck out four while scattering seven hits in the road victory.

Valpo will return to action on Friday afternoon in the Crusaders home opener. The first pitch against Southern Utah is slated for 1:30 p.m. at the Valparaiso University Softball Field.
