Valparaiso University's Ben Dunham-Freer (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week after leading the Brown and Gold to a victory over Wright State last weekend.

The junior posted his second straight victory at first singles, a 6-3, 6-1 triumph to help lift the Crusaders to a 4-3 victory over the Raiders. He also teamed with Jeff Vrabel (Allen Park, Mich./St. Francis Cabrini H.S.) to notch a 9-8 win at number one doubles to help the team earn the doubles point.

This is Dunham-Freer's second award of the year, as he also earned the honor Sept. 16. It also marks Valpo's fifth Athlete of the Week this season as a team.
