Four members of the Valparaiso University men's swimming and diving team earned Mid-Continent Conference Second Team honors following this past weekend's conference championships.

Sean Conrin (Buffalo Grove, Ill./Buffalo Grove H.S.), David Peterson (Schererville, Ind./Highland H.S.), Bob Schmidt (Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville H.S.), and Travers Smith (Huntley, Ill./Huntley H.S.) were all members of the runner-up 400 medley relay. The team finished with a time of 3:35.25, .22 seconds ahead of IUPUI.

Conrin also finished in fifth place in the 100 butterfly with a time of 53.24 seconds, while Peterson earned the same finish in the 100 breaststoke with a time of 1:01.54. Peterson was also fourth in the 200 breast, touching the wall in 2:16.15.

Schmidt finished in fifth place in the 100 freestyle in a time of 47.86 seconds, while Smith was runner-up in the 200 backstroke (1:57.69) and third in the 100 back (54.03).
