Kooyers Named Mid-Con Athlete of the Week for the Second Time

Valparaiso University's Nic Kooyers (Holland, Mich./Holland H.S.) has earned the Mid-Continent Conference men's tennis Athlete of the Week honor following his performance this weekend at Michigan State.

The Crusader freshman earned Valpo's lone point against the No. 58 Spartans. He posted a 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 victory over Eric Simonton at second singles after posting the third-set super tiebreak victory.

This marks the second time Kooyers has earned the honor from the Mid-Con, as he also received the award on October 28.
