Rachel Nelson (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit H.S.) just missed turning in a school record in the 800m as the 2004 track and field season came to a close on Friday at the North Central College Invitational.

Nelson, Valparaiso University's lone competitor, turned in a fifth place finish with a time of 2:15.34. She just missed the time of 2:15.15 set by Collette Liss back in 1997.
