Danielle Nunnelly (Valparaiso, Ind./Valparaiso H.S.) was named Mid-Continent Conference Newcomer of the Year, and was one of three Crusaders to earn Second Team All Mid-Continent Conference honors following the Mid-Con Cross Country Championships held on Saturday.

Rachel Nelson (Lee's Summit, Mo./Lee's Summit H.S.) and Amy Mikel (Lemont, Ill./Fenwick H.S.) joined Nunnelly on the Second Team.

Nunnelly led the Crusaders with a tenth place finish at the championships with a time of 23:03.27 over the six-kilometer course. Nelson placed 13th crossing the finish line in 23:16.42, while Mikel was just behind her in 23:17.39.

For Nelson, it marks the second straight season she earned Second Team All Mid-Con honors.
