Senior Adam Knobel struck out nine in five shutout innings and senior Eric Brauer belted a long solo homer in his only career at bat.

Senior Adam Knobel became Valpo's all-time saves leader as the Crusaders defeated Centenary 4-2 in the first game of a Mid-Continent Conference doubleheader. The Gents defeated Valpo 4-2 in the nightcap, setting up a decisive twinbill on Sunday to determine whether Valpo or Centenary earns the fourth and final spot in the Mid-Con Tournament.

Valparaiso University basketball player Kenny Harris was transferred by ambulance this morning from the Intensive Care Unit of Porter's Valparaiso Hospital Campus to the Neuro-ICU at the University of Chicago Hospitals. According to Porter officials, his condition is still critical and has not changed from the time of admission. Harris, a sophomore, was admitted to Porter's Valparaiso Hospital campus April 11 after collapsing while participating in supervised weight training exercises.
