Valparaiso University's Nic Kooyers (Holland, Mich./Holland H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week after leading the Crusaders to a 6-1 win over Villanova.

Kooyers notched a 6-1, 6-4 win at number one singles and also teamed with Shabbi Khan (Karachi, Pakistan/Oasys H.S.) for an 8-4 victory at second doubles.

Kooyers is the fourth Crusader this season to earn the honor. Ben Dunham-Freer (Fort Thomas, Ky./Highlands H.S.) has won the award three times.
