Valparaiso University's Liz Mikos (Dundee, Ill./Jacobs H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week after leading the Crusaders to three victories last week.

The junior middle blocker set a school record with 11 blocks in a three-game match against Indiana State on Saturday at the Kentucky Conference Challenge, where she earned All-Tournament Team honors.

She also added 14 kills and six blocks earlier in the week against Notre Dame, helping Valpo end a 17-match losing streak to the Fighting Irish.

For the week, Mikos averaged three kills and two blocks per game.
