Valparaiso University's Mike Jones (Lake Zurich, Ill./Lake Zurich H.S.) has been named the Pioneer Football League Defensive Player of the Week for his effort on Saturday in the Crusaders' loss against Saint Joseph's (Ind.).

Jones made ten tackles on the afternoon and was involved in three turnovers. He forced a fumble that led to a Crusader touchdown, recovered two fumbles, and had a pass breakup.
