NCAA Pairings Party Set for Sunday at 1:00

Thursday, November 24, 2005

The Valparaiso University volleyball team will celebrate a third-straight Mid-Continent Conference Championship and watch their NCAA Tournament opponent unveiled at a selection party Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Buffalouie's restaurant in Valparaiso.

Players, coaches and administrators will be on hand to watch as the NCAA Tournament pairings are announced live on ESPNews. The Crusaders captured this year's conference crown November 20 when they defeated Oral Roberts 3-1 at the Athletics-Recreation Center. In the two previous seasons, Valpo fell in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, losing 3-0 to Nebraska in 2003 and dropping a 3-1 match to Notre Dame last season.

Valpo (26-6) closes out the regular season this weekend at the MU Battle for the Bird in Milwaukee, Wis. The Crusaders take on Fairfield Friday at 4:00 p.m. and will meet the hosts from Marquette Saturday at 7:00 p.m. Both of those matches can be heard live on 95.1 FM, WVUR, and online at www.valpo.edu/athletics.
