Valparaiso University's Katie Jajtner (Port Washington, Wis./Port Washington H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week after posting a strong showing against Florida Southern on Friday.

The junior won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:46.62, the fastest mark of the season for a Crusader in the event. It was also Jajtner's first time swimming the event this season. She also was on the runner-up 200 free relay that finished in a time of 1:48.27.
