Steve Bartholomew (Valparaiso, Ind./Morgan Township H.S.) has been honored by the Mid-Continent Conference as Athlete of the Week after his stellar performance last weekend at the Butler Twilight.

Bartholomew rolled over the entire field in the hammer throw, taking first place with a mark of 181'9", bettering the runner-up by 28 feet. He also placed second in the discus throw with an effort of 159'2".

Bartholomew currently holds the school record in both events and also ranks second in the Mid-Con this year in each. Bartholomew and the rest of the Crusader squad will return to action Thursday in Macomb, Ill. at the Mid-Continent Conference Outdoor Championships.
