Valparaiso University's Rachel Janssen (Fort Wayne, Ind./Dwenger H.S.) has been named the Mid-Continent Conference Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Rocket Hidden Duals this past weekend.

For the senior, this marks the second time this fall she has earned the honor, previously having received it on September 12 as well. This is also the ninth time in her four-year career she has received the accolade.

She posted a pair of singles wins this past weekend, downing Martina Wodzinski of Toledo in straight sets 6-4, 6-4 as well as defeating Aneta Maricevic of Detroit 6-4, 6-2. Janssen also teamed with Kate Evangelist (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard West H.S.) for an 8-6 win over a team from Detroit.

Janssen will compete in the Mastodon Invitational held by IPFW this weekend.
