Valparaiso volleyball commit Taylor Root has been named a PrepVolleyball.com High School All-American, one of just 150 players nationwide, as well as one of just three liberos, to receive the honor.

Root, who helped lead Jenison [Mich.] H.S. to back-to-back state championships during her junior and senior years, was one of ten finalists last year for Michigan’s Miss Volleyball award.  A four-year player on the club level for the FaR Out VBC, Root was named the Most Outstanding Passer at last year’s Prepvolleyball.com Classic and also has previously earned All-American honors at the Junior Olympic Championships, where she helped her team to the national title.
