Valparaiso freshman libero Taylor Root (Jenison, Mich./Jenison) was selected to the 2009 Horizon League Championship All-Tournament Team, the league announced today.

The Horizon League Newcomer of the Year, Root earned the All-Tournament accolade after registering a match-high 22 digs over three sets in the Crusaders’ semifinal loss to eventual champion Milwaukee.  Root, who earned her third All-Tournament honor of the year, now has 564 digs on the year, most by a freshman in program history and fifth-most in a single season all-time at Valpo.
