Valparaiso University head golf coach Mike Higdon has announced that the Crusaders will compete in four tournaments leading up to the 2011 Horizon League Championships this spring.

The Crusaders will open action March 28-29 at the Butler Spring Invitational, an event which was shortened to just 18 holes last year due to weather.  One week later (April 4-5), Valpo will venture to Spring Hill, Tenn. to compete in the Big Blue Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee State.

Playing for five straight weeks during the spring, the middle tournament is new on the schedule this season when Valpo heads to Lexington, Ky. for the UK Bluegrass Invitational (April 9-10) hosted by Kentucky.  The Crusaders then head to Ball State on April 16-17 for the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational.

This year’s Horizon League Championships are slated for Mission Inn Resort in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. April 22-24.
