Mother Nature played a cruel April Fool’s joke on Valparaiso Friday afternoon, as rain started about 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch in the Crusaders’ home opener against UIC, postponing the game until Sunday morning at 11 a.m.

The Crusaders and Flames will now begin their three-game weekend series with Saturday’s scheduled doubleheader beginning at noon at Emory G. Bauer Field.  That game can be heard live online through www.valpoathletics.com.  It will not be available on WVUR radio as previously scheduled.  Broadcast plans for Sunday’s make-up game have yet to be determined.
