Valparaiso redshirt junior goalkeeper Kyle Zobeck (Coralville, Iowa/Iowa City West) was named the Horizon League Male Scholar-Athlete of the Month for the month of September, the league office announced today.

Zobeck played every second between the pipes in goal for Valpo in the month of September, posting a 0.84 goals against average for the month.  The junior ended the month as the Horizon League leader in both GAA and shutouts, registering four clean sheets on the month.  Zobeck also helped Valpo get out to a 1-0-1 start in Horizon League play in September as well.

In the classroom, Zobeck boasts a 3.961 cumulative grade point average as a mechanical engineering major.  A member of the Horizon League Academic All-League squad in 2010, Zobeck has been named to the league’s Academic Honor Roll each semester eligible.  He also has earned Presidential academic honors during his time at Valpo.
