Valparaiso University sophomore Erika Pfaender (Pewaukee, Wis./Arrowhead H.S.) has been named the Horizon League’s Golfer of the Week after finishing third at the IPFW Spring Classic.

Pfaender posted rounds of 80 and 79 to finish at 159, just one stroke out of a playoff for the individual title.  It was her second top-10 showing of the season and first top-five finish.

Her efforts helped lead Valparaiso to a tie for fifth place in the team standings with a total of 676, just five strokes out of third place.

Pfaender is second on the Crusader roster this year with an 82.0 stroke average while playing 14 total rounds.

Valparaiso returns to action April 14-15 at the Indiana Invitational held in Bloomington, Ind.
