Valparaiso moved up one position in the final standings on Sunday to finish in 13^th place at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational held at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.

The Crusaders shot a final round 376, the team’s lowest of the event, to finish at 1,153, one stroke behind Cincinnati and Dayton for 11^th place.

Louisville won the team title by 10 shots over Austin Peay, finishing the 54-hole tournament at 1,090 as five scores counted out of the team’s six players.

Andy Webb (Bedford, Ind./North Lawrence H.S.) led Valpo in the final round with a one-over par 71 on the 6,438-yard, par-70 course.  Webb finished at 235 for the tournament, tied for third on the Valpo roster.

Brad Winters (Elgin, Ill./Saint Edward H.S.) led the way for the Crusaders in the tournament, tying for 35^th place with a three-round total of 227.  He fired his second consecutive 74 on Sunday to conclude the event.

Thomas Wettstein (Neenah, Wis./Xavier H.S.) carded a final round 76 to finish at 232 while Kyle Henning (Brookfield, Wis./East H.S.) matched Webb at 235 with his 77 on Sunday.  Austin Gaugert (Lake Geneva, Wis./Badger H.S.) fired a final round 78 to shoot 238 while Josh Kalita (Chesterton, Ind./Chesterton H.S.) carded an 84 to post 236.

Chris Malec of Louisville won the tournament at even par 210, a two-stroke victory over teammate Justin Dorward.

Valparaiso will return to action Friday through Sunday at the 2012 Horizon League Golf Championships held in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.  Friday’s opening round begins at 9 a.m.
