Valparaiso University designated hitter Andrew Bain (Indianapolis, Ind./Park Tudor H.S.) was named to the All-Regional Team following the conclusion of the NCAA’s Gary Regional held Friday through Sunday at U.S. Steel Yard.

The Crusader junior went 5-for-9 at the plate, with a RBI in the tournament.  In the regional opener against #15 Purdue on Friday, Bain batted 2-for-5 with a RBI and stole a base.  On Saturday against #11 Kentucky, he was 3-for-4 at the plate in the leadoff spot.

Valpo fell 7-2 to Purdue and 8-1 against Kentucky in the Crusaders’ first NCAA Tournament appearance since 1968.  The Crusaders finished the year 35-25, tying a school record for victories.
