Valparaiso University senior punter Greg Wood (Libertyville, Ill./Libertyville H.S.) has been selected as a Preseason All-Pioneer Football League team member as the league office released the preseason teams this afternoon.

Wood has averaged 42.8 yards per punt during his career with the Crusaders in 143 attempts.  As a sophomore in 2010, he set the school’s single season record averaging 43.6 yards per boot, good for third in the nation in Division I - FCS.  Last year as a junior, Wood kicked 76 times, one shy of the school’s single season mark, averaging 42.0 yards per punt, which ranked 14^th among FCS punters.  He had a career-long of 76 yards in 2011.

A First Team All-PFL selection as a sophomore, Wood earned Second Team accolades during his junior campaign.
