Richardson Named Horizon League Runner of the Week
Jessica Richardson earned her first career weekly honor from the league office. (Ray Acevedo) Monday, October 01, 2012 Valparaiso sophomore Jessica Richardson (Columbus, Ind./North) has been tabbed the Horizon League Female Runner of the Week after an impressive performance at the Notre Dame Invitational last Saturday. Richardson covered the5K course at Notre Dame on Saturday in a career-best time of 17:51, good for a seventh-place finish and just three seconds off of the fourth-place finisher. The sophomore has now earned top-ten finishes in each of the Crusaders’ three meets this season. In addition, her time of 17:51 makes her the fourth-fastest runner over 5K in Valpo women’s cross country history. Richardson and the rest of the Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Evansville Invitational in Evansville, Ind. The meet is slated for an 11 a.m. CDT start. |
