Crusaders Raising Money as Part of Breast Cancer Awareness Activities

The Valparaiso University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be raising money for the American Cancer Society at home events throughout the next month as part of its Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

SAAC will be manning tables at seven different sporting events over the next few weeks, selling t-shirts as well as accepting donations for the cause. The Crusader teams will also be supporting breast cancer awareness, wearing pink jerseys, socks, hats and shoelaces, as well as showcasing pink in other ways.

The events at which fans can support breast cancer awareness start this weekend here at home.  Men’s tennis will be participating at their home tournament this Saturday, Oct. 4, volleyball will be donning pink in their match on Saturday, and softball will be wearing pink in Sunday's home doubleheader as well.  At the volleyball match, any fans wearing pink can enter a contest to win a free pink Valpo shirt.  Other teams joining in throughout the month include women’s soccer (Oct. 11), football (Oct. 18), men’s soccer (Oct. 25) and men’s basketball (Nov. 6).
