Alex Bailey joined Valparaiso’s coaching staff in March of 2012 as an assistant coach and will lead the Crusaders’ wide receivers.

Bailey came to Valpo from the University of Dayton. He was the Flyers’ wide receivers coach for the 2010 and 2011 seasons, gaining valuable experience coaching in the Pioneer Football League.  He began his coaching career in 2007 at Defiance College, where he spent three seasons as the wide receiver coach, adding the title of strength and conditioning coordinator in 2008, prior to moving on to Dayton.

A 2007 graduate from Youngstown State University with a degree in exercise science, he played wide receiver for the Penguins for three seasons.  He earned his master’s degree in education/sport science from Defiance, in 2009.
