Valparaiso University head softball coach Jerry Stieger has announced the signing of Taylor Callahan for the 2004 season.
The Grayson, Ga. native signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Crusaders during the early signing period.
A product of Greater Atlanta Christian School, Callahan concluded her high school career with a .329 batting average and a .972 fielding percentage.
She was a four-year varsity starter for the Spartans and led the team to three state finals appearances. The Spartans finished as the state runner-up during Callahan's sophomore and senior seasons.
Callahan was a First Team All-Georgia selection and holds school records for doubles and homeruns in a season along with career round-trippers.
?Taylor is a tremendous all-around athlete who has the versatility to play a variety of positions for us," Stieger said. ?She will make a considerable difference on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field."
