Head coach Randy Schneider announced today that the Valparaiso softball team will be playing eight games, including two games at the Valparaiso University Softball Field, during the fall of 2007.

The Crusaders will kick off the fall slate at the Chicagoland Classic in Orland Park, Ill. on September 14 and 15.  On the 14^th, Valpo will face Lewis at 5 p.m. and Indiana at 7 p.m.  The next day, the Brown and Gold will take on Bradley at 4 p.m. before closing out play against Kankakee C.C. at 6 p.m.

Two weekends later on September 29, Valpo will travel to Fort Wayne to play two games at IPFW.  The first game, to be played at 10 a.m. CDT, will be against Bethel.  The Crusaders will then face the host Mastodons at noon CDT.

Valpo will close out the 2007 fall campaign at the Valparaiso University Softball Field with a doubleheader on October 6 against Saint Francis (Ind.).  The doubleheader has been designated as Parents Weekend for the Crusader team.

Valparaiso returns 15 letterwinners in 2007 from a squad that went 27-19 last season, tying a school record for victories in a single season.
