Texas Tech Defeats Valpo 11-0

Texas Tech errupted for seven runs over the first three innings and held Valparaiso to just one hit as the Red Raiders defeated the Crusaders 11-0 on Sunday morning to conclude the Shocker Invitational in Wichita, Kan.

Taylor Callahan's single in the first was the lone Crusader hit in the game. Valpo struggled defensively, committing five errors leading to seven unearned runs.

Texas Tech (12-9) tallied 13 hits in the win.

Valpo's Kelly Silvey was named to the Shocker Invitational All-Tournament Team following the game.

Valparaiso (0-13) will look for its first win of the 2005 campaign on Saturday afternoon when the Crusaders travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. for a 1 p.m. CST doubleheader against IPFW.
