Taylor Callahan (Pendergrass, Ga./Greater Atlanta Christian) was named the Mid-Continent Conference Player of the Week today after hitting .478 over the Crusaders' seven games last week.

After going 0-for-4 against St. Joseph's (Ind.) in the week's first two games, head coach Randy Schneider moved Callahan into the leadoff position, and the senior responded, going 11-for-19 (.579) over the final five games of the week. Callahan went 4-for-5 in Valpo's opener at Northern Illinois, including the game-winning 2-RBI single in the ninth inning. She followed with three more multi-hit games over Valpo's next four contests, giving her seven multi-hit games on the year.

Included in Callahan's 11 hits on the week were seven doubles, increasing her total this year to ten. All five of Callahan's hits in the three-game IUPUI series were of the two-bag variety. The senior also registered four runs, four RBIs, and a stolen base on the week.
