Valparaiso sophomore outfielder Lindsey Norway (Chicago, Ill./Chicago Christian) became the fifth different Crusader to be honored by the Horizon League office this season, as she was named the league's Player of the Week following an All-Tournament Team performance last weekend at the Hatter Classic.
Norway earned the honor after hitting .500 and slugging at an .875 clip over the weekend for the Crusaders, earning her a spot on the All-Tournament Team along with teammate Taylor Weissenhofer (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township). The sophomore went 3-for-3 with a career-high three runs scored, two RBIs and a pair of doubles in Valpo's March 8 win over Colgate, and followed with a two-run double and a run scored in the March 9 win over the same squad. Norway scored a run as well in the March 9 game against Stetson and laid down successful sacrifices in both games against the Hatters.
Norway and the rest of the Crusaders return to action with a pair of games on Wednesday at Florida Gulf Coast. Valpo will take on Maine at 1:30 p.m. CT before facing host FGCU at 6 p.m.
