Nadler Earns All-Tournament Team Honor

Valparaiso freshman outfielder Taylor Nadler (New Haven, Mo./St. Francis Borgia) capped a standout rookie season for the Crusaders by being named to the 2015 Horizon League Championship All-Tournament Team, as the tournament concluded Saturday.

Nadler kicked off the big second inning in the Crusaders’ win over Wright State to open the tournament with a single, and later in the frame delivered a two-run double – finishing a stretch where she reached base in 10 consecutive plate appearances, tied for the eighth-longest stretch in NCAA history.  The freshman went 1-for-3 against UIC, and then got Valpo’s seventh-inning rally started in the finale against the Raiders with a leadoff single, scoring a run later in the inning.

Over the three games, Nadler went 4-for-9 with a run scored and two RBIs at the plate. She also stood out defensively as well, recording 10 putouts, including a number of diving catches, without committing an error in the outfield.
