Anderson Recognized in MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight

Valpo junior Brittany Anderson (East Chicago, Ind./Bishop Noll) received recognition for her academic prowess on Wednesday as the two-sport star was featured in the MVC Scholar-Athlete Spotlight, presented by Enterprise Bank and Trust Company. 

A sports management major with a 3.73 GPA, Anderson has received numerous academic accolades in her time at Valpo. She has twice been named an MVC Volleyball Honorable Mention Scholar-Athlete and has received the conference’s Commissioner’s Academic Excellence Award each of the last two years. She has also twice been named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete.

Anderson is active around the Valparaiso campus and community. She is the Valpo Student Alumni Association Treasurer and Secretary, a member of SAAC and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Anderson has also served in the community, volunteering at the Bishop Noll Institute volleyball and softball camps, with Fellowship of Christian Athletes summer camps and even served in Costa Rica on a volleyball mission trip.

On the softball diamond, Anderson started 16 games in the shortened 2020 campaign, hitting .280 with three runs scored and four RBIs. She ranked second on the team in batting average and finished the season 10th in the Valley in putouts (91).

On the volleyball court, the junior started every match at setter for the third straight year in the fall of 2019, dishing out 1,076 assists. Anderson already ranks fourth in program history with 3,850 career assists and is fifth nationally in her class in career assists.
