Adam Rykse returns to the Crusader coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2016 season. Rykse previously spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as a graduate assistant at Valpo, helping the program to 50 victories over his two years.
Rykse came to Valpo from Muskegon C.C., where he served as an assistant coach in 2012 after spending the 2011 season as a hitting instructor. Rykse had previously assisted with video and photo work for statistics at Muskegon. He also served as the school's sports information director for the 2012-2013 school year.
Beyond his duties at Muskegon, Rykse spent the 2012-2013 season as the head coach of the Inside Out Juniors 17-1 team. He also previously served as videographer and statistican at Davenport University from 2006-2009, and spent his high school years as a team manager at Ravenna H.S.
Rykse is a 2012 graduate of Michigan State University, and received his master's degree in sports administration from Valparaiso University in 2014. While at MSU, he competed on the nationally-ranked club volleyball team for four years.
