Valpo Volleyball to Hold Two Camps this Summer

The Valparaiso University volleyball team has announced its dates for its 2003 summer camps. The Crusaders will hold two different camps this year, with head coach Carin Avery as the camp director, while assistant coach Sue Ushela serving as the assistant director.

The first camp offered is the overnight camp from July 8-11. This is designed for girls and boys in grades 7-12. The camp offers a strong emphasis on fundamental volleyball skill improvement. Groups will be divided according to ability. Evening sessions incorporate competitive drills and games, leading to the ?Tournament of Champions." The cost of the overnight camp is $300.

The second camp offered is the volleyball day camp on July 14-18. Girls and boys grades 4-7 will learn the basic fundamentals as they develop into serious volleyball and basketball players. Volleyball skills covered will include serving, passing, setting, attacking, and digging. Campers will enjoy competing in the ?Mini-Tournament' during the last session of camp. The camp runs from 8 a.m. until noon and costs $150.
