Valparaiso University's Liz Mikos (Dundee, Ill./Jacobs H.S.) has been named the Scholar Athlete of the Month by Volleyball Magazine in its October, 2004 issue.

The junior middle blocker currently leads the Mid-Continent Conference averaging 1.47 blocks per game. She is hitting .271 on the season, with 2.57 kills per game.

Off the court, Mikos was been named to the Mid-Con All-Academic Team last season and contributed to the Crusaders earning of one of the AVCA Team Academic Awards.
