The Valparaiso University volleyball team has begun a season-long push to raise money for cancer research called Crusaders Conquering Cancer.

Donations will be accepted at all remaining home matches, including Friday's 7:00 match against Chicago State and Saturday's 7:00 tilt with IUPUI. Each gift of at least one dollar will come with a drawing of the Crusader to be decorated by the donor and placed along the east wall of the Main Gymnasium at the Athletics-Recreation Center. All money raised will benefit the Northern Indiana Cancer Research Consortium in memory of Al Zielinski, the late father of Head Coach Carin Avery.

Through the first four home matches of the season, the Crusaders have already raised $2,000 towards their season goal of $8,000.
