Kangaroos Down Valpo in Three

Valparaiso dropped its second straight Mid-Continent Conference match on Saturday evening, falling to UMKC 3-0 in Kansas City, Mo.

The Kangaroos outhit the Crusaders .294-.128 on their way to a 30-20, 30-21, 30-22 victory.
Heather Hynds (Sylvan Lake, Ill./Mundelein H.S.) lead the Brown and Gold with 14 kills and a .407 hitting percentage, but it was not enough to overcome Lindsey Zerr's 15 kill, .458 hitting percentage night for UMKC.

Cyndi Norman (Minooka, Ill./Minooka H.S.) led the Crusaders with 17 digs and 32 assists.

Katie Keating added 11 kills, hitting .440, and added 15 digs for the Kangaroos.
For the match, UMKC (9-11, 1-2 Mid-Con) outhit Valpo .294-.128 and outdug the Crusaders 70-58.

Valpo (9-6, 1-2) will return to action on Tuesday evening when the Crusaders travel to Chicago for a 7 p.m. match against Loyola.
