Mikos Leads Nation in Blocks

Valparaiso University sophomore Liz Mikos (Dundee, Ill./Jacobs H.S.) currently leads the nation in blocks per game.

The Crusaders' middle blocker is tallying 1.82 blocks per game, .06 more than Lauren Brewster of Notre Dame to lead all NCAA Division I players.

As a team, the Crusaders ranked 16th in the country in blocks per game with 3.00. Valpo also ranks 13th in the nation in digs per game with 19.01. Sara Silcox (Michigan City, Ind./Michigan City H.S.) is 18th individual in the digs category with 4.61 per game.

Valpo (24-7, 12-1 Mid-Con) will look to clinch the Mid-Continent Conference title outright on Friday evening when the Crusaders host Oakland at 7 p.m.
