Crusaders Welcome Ketcham to Incoming Class

Valparaiso volleyball head coach Carin Avery announced today that Allison Ketcham, a product of Mishawaka Marian H.S., has signed with the Crusader volleyball program and will join the team as a freshman for the 2014 season.

Ketcham, a 5’9” outside hitter, capped her career with the Lady Knights as a senior by being named a First Team All-State honoree as she helped lead Marian to a 37-2 record and a berth in the semi-state championship match.  A two-time First Team All-Conference recipient, Ketcham also earned First Team Academic All-State honors this year.  During her senior year, she was named MVP of the Marquette Tournament and received Burger King Student-Athlete of the Week and Kiwanis Athlete of the Month awards.

“We are so excited that Allison decided to join our program,” said Avery.  “She fits the mold of our outside hitters that we have recruited in the past.  Allison is a great athlete, has great ball control, is super competitive and knows how to win.  We are always very excited to get local athletes, especially when we feel we’ve found a diamond in the rough like Allison.”

Ketcham becomes the fourth member of the Crusaders’ freshman class for the 2014 season, joining Catherine Ament, Kayla Currier and Taylor Graboski, all of whom signed with Valpo during the early signing period.
