McCarthy Earns All-Tournament Team Honors at Kent State
Peyton McCarthy earned her second consecutive All-Tournament Team honor this weekend.

For the second time in as many weekends to open the season, Valpo volleyball junior middle Peyton McCarthy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Seton) represented Valpo on the All-Tournament Team, this time at the Golden Flashes Classic hosted by Kent State.

McCarthy opened the weekend with nine kills on just 15 swings, hitting at a .533 clip in Valpo’s sweep of Idaho State Friday afternoon. Later that night, the junior posted 13 kills and three blocks as Valpo went to five sets with Kent State. She closed tournament action by recording a career-high 18 kills to lead all players in the matchup with Robert Morris, hitting .467.

For the weekend, McCarthy hit .387 and averaged 3.33 kills/set, leading Valpo in both categories, while also chipping in 0.67 blocks/set. She now owns four career All-Tournament accolades, all of which have come over the Brown and Gold’s last six in-season tournaments.
