Olivia Blackketter Joins Valpo Volleyball
Olivia Blackketter has joined the Valpo volleyball program.

Valpo volleyball head coach Carin Avery announced today that Olivia Blackketter (Bloomington, Ind./Bloomington South) has transferred to Valpo and will be immediately eligible to play in the fall of 2021. A 6-2 middle, Blackketter played her first two collegiate seasons at Winthrop.

Blackketter appeared in 24 matches for the Eagles over the spring and fall 2021 campaigns, seeing action in 52 sets. She tallied 61 kills and 40 blocks, posting career highs of eight kills (Oct. 1 vs. Presbyterian, on .545 hitting) and eight blocks (Feb. 28 vs. Campbell). A member of the Big South All-Freshman Team following the spring season, Blackketter was named Big South Freshman of the Week March 24 after registering 12 kills on .435 hitting and seven blocks in a pair of sweeps of Radford.

Blackketter was a four-year letterwinner at Bloomington South H.S., where she was an All-Conference honoree as a senior and was named to the Indiana 3A/4A South Senior All-Star Team. Blackketter, who also earned Academic All-State accolades, received Bloomington South’s Female Athletic Director’s Award and the “B” Award, awarded to a player of exceptional mental attitude. She played her club volleyball for Circle City VBC, also the home club for Rylee Cookerly and Gretchen Kuckkan.
