Miranda Strongman to Join Valpo Volleyball Program
Miranda Strongman is joining the Valpo volleyball program next season.

Valpo volleyball head coach Carin Avery announced today that Miranda Strongman, a middle hitter from Wolverine Lake, Mich., will join the Beacons’ program as a graduate transfer for the 2022 season. Strongman, the sister of former Valpo men’s swimmer Brett, played her first three years of collegiate volleyball for LIU and has two seasons of eligibility remaining.

Strongman was a three-year starter in the middle for the Sharks, tallying 375 kills on .236 hitting and 138 blocks over her three seasons. Her stint at LIU was highlighted by being named a Second Team All-NEC honoree in the spring 2021 season as the Sharks won the conference championship and earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament.

Strongman ranked seventh in NEC-only play as a freshman in 2019 in hitting percentage, picking up an NEC Rookie of the Week honor along the way. She was fourth in the conference in the spring 2021 season in hitting percentage, and averaged one block/set in NEC action this past fall, good for fourth in the conference.

Strongman played her prep volleyball for Walled Lake Central [Mich.] H.S., where she helped the program to multiple league and city championships. A four-year letterwinner, Strongman was a two-time All-Region and three-time All-Conference selection.

Strongman is the fifth newcomer to join the Valpo volleyball program next season. She joins fellow transfer Olivia Blackketter and incoming freshmen Claire Campbell, Sophia Foster and Emma Hickey.
