Nick Polite

Assistant Coach

Nick Polite enters his third season as an assistant coach for the Valparaiso volleyball program in 2015.  Polite has helped guide the Crusaders to 50 wins over his first two seasons, while the Crusaders finished in second place in the league standings and earned a spot in the Horizon League title match in his first season in 2013.

Polite comes to Valpo from Indiana State, where he spent the 2012 campaign as an assistant coach.  He was responsible for film analysis/exchange, travel coordination, statistical analysis and the defense during his time as an assistant.  Polite previously was a student manager for the 2011 season and also spent two years as a practice player for the Sycamores.

Polite also spent time in 2013 coaching for the newly-formed club Indiana Elite VBC, leading both the 18 Elite and 14 Elite squads.  He has also coached club volleyball at COA (18s team in 2012, 18s and 14s teams in 2011, 16s team in 2010) and Dunes.  Polite was the founder of the Indiana State men's club volleyball team, running the club's operations for three years, and has also worked elite and team summer camps at Notre Dame and Purdue.

A 2012 graduate of Indiana State University, Polite was a two-year member of the Sycamores' track and field team.  A three-sport athlete at Washington Township H.S., he was two-time conference MVP and a three-time All-Conference honoree on the volleyball court, leading his team to a perfect 21-0 record as a senior.
