Crusaders Set to Face Kansas State in First Round of NCAA Tournament

Valparaiso University's women's basketball team will face Kansas State on Sunday in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament to be held in Minneapolis, Minn.

The Crusaders, the 15th seed in the Mideast region, earned their second straight NCAA Tournament bid last Tuesday when they defeated Oral Roberts 64-63 to win the Mid-Continent Conference Tournament. Valpo has posted a 20-11 record this season and finished 11-5 in Mid-Con play to earn a share of second place in the regular season standings.

The Wildcats, the region's second seed, earned an at-large bid out of the Big XII Conference. Kansas State finished the season 24-5 and tied for a share of the league title with Texas, but fell to Oklahoma in the tournament semifinals.

In the other game on Sunday in Minneapolis, #7 Minnesota will battle #10 UCLA.

Games times are scheduled to be announced on Monday afternoon.
